1. Initial Inquiry
Reach out via phone, voicemail, WhatsApp, email, or my contact page—whatever is easiest for you! Share the details about your tree, design ideas, and location, and I’ll guide you through the process.
2. Consultation & Site Visit (or via Phone/Photos)
I can arrange an on-site visit to assess the tree and discuss your design. Alternatively, if more convenient, you can send photos for a consultation. I’ll review the tree’s structure and determine the best approach to bring your ideas to life.
3. Stripping the Bark – Blank Canvas
The first step is stripping the bark to expose the wood, revealing its natural grain, texture, and shape. As I work, I’ll remove any poor or damaged wood to ensure only the highest quality wood is used for the carving, resulting in a durable, long-lasting final piece. As the carving progresses, I’ll refine the design, adapting to the tree’s natural form.
4. Quote & Timeline
After assessing the design and tree, I’ll provide a personalized quote based on the complexity of the work and the estimated timeline for completion.
5. Design Evolution
As the carving evolves, I’ll collaborate with you to make adjustments, ensuring the design stays aligned with your vision. You’ll have the opportunity to review and approve the design as it develops.
6. Carving Process
Once the design is finalized, I’ll begin carving directly into the tree with precision and care, bringing the vision to life.
7. Final Touches
After completing the carving, I’ll apply a protective finish, including boiled linseed oil, to nourish the wood, deepen the grain, and preserve the carving against the elements.
8. Payment
Once the project is complete, you’ll receive a final invoice. Payment can be made via your preferred method.
Alternative Options and Carving Care
• Alternative Options: If on-site carving isn’t feasible, I also offer custom wood carvings that can be created off-site and installed at your location.
• Carving Care: After the carving is complete, I recommend regular maintenance, including resealing every 6-12 months with boiled linseed oil or a similar product. This helps protect your carving and ensure its longevity. Keep the carving dry, and enjoy its beauty for years to come.
