Tree pruning services are tree care services where our tree surgeons selectively remove certain parts of a tree to provide you with the desired result. Whether you would like to let more light into your garden, removal of dead branches, reshaping of trees or lifting the canopy to increase clearance above the ground, we are here to help you manage your trees effectively.
Formative Pruning
Carried out to improve form and remove defects from trees.
Lifting
Removal of lower branches to increase clearance beneath the canopy
Thinning
Removal of secondary branches from within the crown to reduce its density leaving a balanced tree with even growth throughout.
Crown Cleaning
A remedial operation for the removal of all defects i.e. dead wood, diseased, crossing, rubbing branches, etc.
Crown Reduction & Reshaping
Removal of outer branches back to suitable growth points to reduce the crown’s overall size, or selected areas to reshape asymmetrical crowns.
Pollarding is a method of pruning that keeps trees and shrubs smaller than they would naturally grow. It is normally started once a tree or shrub reaches a certain height, and annual pollarding will restrict the plant to that height.
These are a few of the plants it can be used on:
Pollarding a tree is usually done annually, and would need to be carried out every few years to avoid potential problems
This tree was reduced back to its previous pruned points, had last been pruned approximately 4-5 years ago.
Walnut tree reduced below phone cables and shaped to balance the crown.
Oak tree reduced hard due to signs of decline, in hope of promoting a smaller healthier crown that fits its enviroment better and get more light, all other surrounding trees were pruned as well to maximise its chance.
These tall thin conifer trees needed reducing to allow more light into the neighbor's property, allow more light through to the Oak tree that's next to them and to reduce their wind sail for safety reasons.
